Additional information

DRY NEEDLING :

The treatment of myofascial (muscular) trigger points. And dense tight knots in the muscle.

The use of a needle without injecting a solution in the muscle.

Using

How does it differ to Traditional Acupuncture? …. It is a treatment of MSK muscle-skeletal conditions.

“Physical therapists are well trained to utilize dry needling in conjunction with manual physical therapy interventions. Research supports that dry needling improves pain control, reduces muscle tension, normalizes biochemical and electrical dysfunction of motor end plates, and facilitates an accelerated return to active rehabilitation”.

Biomechanical Examinations

Biomechanical Examinations with Osteopathy– The skeleton is a complex structure made up of many bones, muscles, ligaments and tendons. Biomechanics looks at the structure and function of the whole skeleton and how each part of the body is affected, by any part with a dysfunction e.g. back, hips and knees. It aims to achieve the motion and positions of all joints, including posture which will give optimum function and stabilization, both in the feet and the entire skeletal complex. This approach enables symptoms and various foot conditions, fatigue and strain to be alleviated by treating the underlying cause, which is normally done by Osteopathic/Physiotherapy treatment, Pilates and the provision of orthotics (Chiropody/Podiatry).

Practitioners are registered and who are expert are usually trained in the following additional areas; sports medicine, massage and strapping, physical therapies, footwear advice and bone surgery. Including our state registered Chiropodist/Podiatrist Nichola Stevens is particularly experienced in sports-related injuries, as well as general foot ailments and diabetes.
Mobility and independence are essential to the quality of life. Unfortunately, for many people immobility is common cause of painful feet.
